The "First Resurrection" is when, since the resurrection of Christ, any righteous man who dies, his/her spirit is taken (risen) to heaven to await Christ's final coming. It happens at each person's physical death. (BibleScribe)

The "First Resurrection" being that a righteous person's spirit is taken to heaven when they die, it of course prevents the person from the "Second Death" which is being cast into the Lake of Fire. The "Second Resurrection" or "General Resurrection" takes place for all humanity at the end of history, the Great White Throne Judgment. To summarize, the First Resurrection is the remedy to a person's physical death (First Death), and the Second Resurrection is the remedy for a person's spiritual death (Second Death). (BibleScribe)
